Oregon Community Comes Out to Support Combat Veterans

The community of Eugene, Oregon, came together for dinner and the critically acclaimed 2019 Fly Fishing Film Tour on February 23, 2019. The event raised more than $9,000 to support Rivers of Recovery.

“Wow! What an inaugural event,” said Jason Johnson, Rivers of Recovery board member and the event’s organizer. “The generosity and compassion of this community is matched only by its passion for fly fishing. It was really inspiring to see attendees get so excited about Rivers of Recovery’s mission, and for that excitement to manifest in open hearts and open wallets.”

Numerous organizations supported the event by providing more than $2,500 in guided fishing trips, outdoor equipment, and numerous other valuable prizes. More than 90 people attended, taking advantage of the opportunity to learn how Rivers of Recovery is changing lives through fly fishing, and to meet some of our program participants, true American heroes. The event was co-sponsored by Trout Unlimited’s Redsides Chapter.

Rivers of Recovery would like to thank the following organizations for their generous support:
